Dear Ones,

One of the gifts of opening our hearts to celebrate the birth of Jesus is remembering that God came to dwell among us as a powerful sign that God does not give up on us. God does not give up on humanity. God does not give up on all creation. Indeed, God’s love is so deep and broad and all embracing we can barely fathom it. Our call is to love God and not give up on one another.

Especially this Christmas, I am grateful to all of our lay and ordained leaders who are demonstrating God’s love by working so hard to offer Christmas worship in the midst of these troubling pandemic conditions. Beloved, you are a living witness to what it means not to give up as you make adjustments to worship, online and in person, to make the celebration of these holy days safer for us all.

May you be blessed by the celebrations of these holy days and know the depths of Christ’s love for you always.
