From September 14-17, Ministry Architects consultants Mary Beth Abplanap and Heather Patton-Graham held listening sessions with more than 50 people in the diocese. In those conversations, they sought to learn about how God is calling the diocese to live into its shared mission, with particular care for the lives and faith of young people.
These sessions led to Ministry Architects’ recommendations for next steps in the Diocese of Indianapolis:
- to recruit a renovation team that will develop sustainable diocesan youth ministry.
- to conduct a national search for a full-time youth minister who will serve as a member of the Bishop’s staff.
- to endorse an 18-month strategic design process to support this essential work.
- to pray: for the youth of this diocese, for the leaders and parents and churches who love and care for them, for God’s vision that their faith and ours might be enlivened.
