The Episcopal Diocese of Indianapolis is committed to revitalizing youth ministry, not just by bringing youth together diocesan-wide but by helping congregations succeed at youth ministry in their individual contexts.
One of the six goals established in our Five-Year Vision for Diocesan Youth Ministry centers on Youth Faith Formation. This strategic goal sets forth an ambitious objective: by 2026, “a collection of comprehensive resources has been created and made widely known and available to congregations of all sizes and locations across the diocese.” You can read more about the Five-Year Vision here.
In line with this vision, our team made significant progress in March by compiling a robust database of existing resources for youth workers. This library, accessible online at indydio.org/youth, was meticulously curated to alleviate decision fatigue, providing carefully selected resources tailored to meet the diverse needs of our congregations. The collection includes a wide range of materials, from curriculums and recommended books to Facebook communities for peer support. We are committed to keeping this resource up-to-date to ensure it remains relevant and useful.
We are excited to announce the completion of phase two of this project, just in time for the new school year. This phase involved gathering and incorporating resources developed by leaders within our congregations into a shared digital library, located on Google Drive and linked on our youth webpage. This expanded collection includes valuable resources on liturgy and worship, faith formation lessons, games, event planning and management, and essential back-to-school forms.
Our Diocesan Youth Faith Formation Library is a living resource, designed to grow and evolve with the needs of our congregations. We invite you to explore and utilize this comprehensive tool, created to support the vital work of youth ministry across our diocese.
We now enter our third phase of this project: curating resources that congregations need. If you are in need of a particular resource, or if you’d like to add a resource, please reach out to Heather Campbell, Diocesan Youth Minister.
