There was plenty of joy in the air at Waycross Camp as people from across the Episcopal Diocese of Indianapolis gathered to celebrate the launch of Beloved & Empowered, a $5 million endowment campaign dedicated to supporting youth and young adult ministry for generations to come.
Last Saturday’s gathering felt like exactly what it was meant to be: a celebration of community, youthful wonder, and possibility. Friends from across the diocese came together to enjoy the beauty of Waycross, reconnect with one another, share food and dancing, and celebrate an exciting new era in our ministry together.
At the heart of the afternoon was our recommitment to our young people who bring so much energy, curiosity, faith, and hope to our churches and communities. Beloved & Empowered is an investment in them. And not as the future of the church, but as who they are today– vital members and leaders of the church.
The campaign seeks to build a $5 million endowment that will sustain youth and young adult ministry throughout the diocese in perpetuity, creating opportunities for formation, leadership, belonging, and connection for generations to come.
And if the launch was any indication, we’re going to have a lot of fun along the way!
Beloved & Empowered began with joy, gratitude, and a wonderful reminder of what can happen when our diocesan family comes together. We can’t wait to see where this journey takes us.
