Sign Up for July 2018 Haiti Pilgrimage

From July 25-30, members of the diocese’s Global Missions Commission will lead a pilgrimage to visit partners in Haiti, including St. Andres in Mithon, where the Diocese of Indianapolis built a school in the aftermath of the 2010 earthquake, St. Vincent’s Center in Port-au-Prince, and St. Croix Hospital in Leogane. An organizational meeting for the pilgrimage will take place on May 30 at 7 p.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Indianapolis.

The trip, which Bishop Jennifer will join for the first two days, is limited to 16 participants. Youth ages 14 and older can participate if they are accompanied by a parent or guardian. The total out-of-pocket expense is expected to be between $1350-$1500, which will include airfare, lodging, meals, and in-country transportation.

“Our time will be rooted in building relationships, specifically, with the people of Mithon, and learning experientially about the life of our Haitian companions,” said the Rev. Jeffrey Bower, chair of the Global Missions Commission. “Each day we will spend time in worship, reflection and prayer, seeking to discern how God might be calling us into a deeper personal faith and deeper relationship with our companions.  We’ll pause to reflect on significant learnings each day, sharing our wisdom with one another, as we seek to be more faithful in our own communities.”

The trip will also include time for cultural activities including museums and historic sites, an afternoon at the beach and shopping.

The organizational meeting will include information about travel documents, insurance, medical releases, the trip itinerary and other details. To RSVP for the meeting, please email Bower or text him at 317-270-8542.
