A New Benefit for Parish and Ministries

Statue of justiceYour Executive Council has entered into an agreement with the legal firm of Plews, Shadely, Racher & Braun LLP, to assist member parishes or ministries with introductory consultations regarding legal needs.

These consultations will be limited to thirty minutes and will be charged against a Diocesan retainer that was added to our budget for 2016.

 

RULES TO ACCESS THIS BENEFIT:
1. Congregations or ministries seeking the advice of an attorney will need to be referred by the Diocesan Office.

You will start by contacting either:

2. The name of the requesting leader and their contact information will then be emailed to both that leader and George Plews, Diocesan Chancellor, with a brief description of the issue. Then George or one of his colleagues will contact you.

3. If the local ministry needs more than an initial consultation, the firm may represent the local ministry on terms separate from this Agreement.

1. Personnel
2. Property
3. Tax issues
4. Lease or rental/facility use
5. Rectory
6. State requirements
7. Contracts
8. Insurance and insurance claims

Pharmacy BenefitsAll clergy or lay people under one of the diocesan medical plans for 2017 will again have their prescription drug plans, both retail and mail order, with Express Scripts.

All maintenance prescriptions must be purchased through the mail order program. After 2 times filling a maintenance prescription at the retail drugstore you will receive a letter explaining if you continue to buy retail rather than mail order you will pay the full cost of the maintenance medication.

Your pharmaceutical plan is the standard plan with the Medical Trust.

Benefits Information: Employee Assistance Program

LiveWellAvailable to all clergy and laity participating in an under 65 medical insurance plan in 2017 is an EAP program administered by CIGNA Behavioral Health.

  • For $5/month any lay employee not under one of the medical plans can participate.

This benefit provides immediate counseling for issues that may affect an employees ability to focus at work. It also provides counseling for any family members residing in the same location. If further counseling is deemed necessary beyond the allocated visits they work with the individuals health insurance to assist in getting the proper care.
