DESCRIPTION:The College for Congregational Development\, a week-long intensive training designed for teams of lay and clergy leaders\, can help churches of every size\, location\, and circumstance become more faithful\, healthy\, and effective. SUMMARY:Iona Celtic Retreat
DESCRIPTION:From June 18-25\, 2022\, people of the diocese are invited to join Bishop Jennifer in a Celtic retreat on the sacred Isle of Iona\, off the western coast of Scotland. The retreat will be led by the Rev. John Philip Newell\, an internationally known expert on Celtic spirituality. \nThe group will spend a week at Iona in prayer\, learning\, sacred practice and community. Each morning\, Newell will teach on Celtic themes. Afternoons can be spent hiking\, in conversation\, in the abbey and sightseeing. Days will begin and end with communal prayer led by Newell\, who will also lead a pilgrimage walk around the nine-mile island. \nParticipants will stay at St. Columba Hotel\, which is a 3-minute walk to the abbey. The hotel offers comfortable rooms and excellent meals (breakfast and dinner included in the cost of the trip). The events are open to all\, but registration is required. \n  \nFestival Eucharist on June 4 in Bloomington\n12:30 p.m. Eastern / 11:30 a.m. Central\nPresiding Bishop Michael Curry will preach and\, with Bishop Jennifer\, lead a festival Eucharist on Saturday\, June 4 from 12:30 p.m Eastern / 11:30 a.m. Central to 2:30 p.m. Eastern / 1:30 p.m. Central at the Monroe Convention Center in Bloomington. The service will include confirmations and the ordinations of the Rev. Jason Fortner and the Rev. Dr. Joél Muñoz to the sacred order of priests. All are welcome\, but registration is required. \nRegister for the Festival Eucharist. \n\nOutdoor Reception on June 4 in Bloomington\n2:30 p.m. Eastern / 1:30 a.m. Central\nOn Saturday\, June 4 at 2:30 p.m. Eastern / 1:30 p.m. Central\, an outdoor reception will follow the Festival Eucharist outside the Monroe Convention Center. SUMMARY:Holy Hike
DESCRIPTION:Waycross Camp and Conference Center and St. David’s\, Bean Blossom\, will host a Holy Hike at Waycross on Saturday\, May 28.\n\nThe group will meet at the youth lodge at 10 a.m. Eastern/9 a.m. Central to hike around the ridge\, ending back at the lodge for lemonade and Waycross cookies. The hike has a moderate incline at the beginning but should be accessible for most. The total distance is about one mile. Walking sticks are recommended as the terrain can be uneven in places. Bathroom facilities at the lodge will be open. Parking may be limited so carpooling is encouraged.\n\nPlease RSVP to laura@waycrossccc.org by May 20.
