We have a legacy of inclusion\, aspiring to tell and exemplify God’s love for every human being; women and men serve as bishops\, priests\, and deacons in our church. Laypeople and clergy cooperate as leaders at all levels of our church. Leadership is a gift from God\, and can be expressed by all people in our church\, regardless of sexual identity or orientation. \nVolunteers are needed to march in the parade\, volunteer for a shift at the festival booth\, or both. \nRegistration for the parade and festival is strongly encouraged so we can communicate with you most effectively. Participation in the parade is free of charge. Tickets are required for the festival and can be purchased ahead of time here. SUMMARY:Confluence Neighborhood Spring Meeting - 5/1/24 at 5:00pm Central (6:00pm Eastern)
DESCRIPTION:Clergy\, convention delegates/alternates\, and all other Confluence neighborhood members are invited to attend the spring meeting at 5:00pm Central (6:00pm Eastern) on Wednesday\, May 1. The neighborhood will gather at St. Stephen’s New Harmony\, and the meeting will be hosted by Mike Staubitz and Rev. Allen Rutherford. \nThe event will start at 5:00 P.M. Central Time\, 6:00 P.M. Easter Time. A light supper will be graciously provided by the folks of St. Stephen’s. A draft of the meeting agenda can be found here. \nThis meeting is open to all in the Confluence neighborhood\, but it is important that all clergy\, delegates and alternates to Diocesan Convention\, and parish wardens try to attend. SUMMARY:Spiritual Care Visitor Training
DESCRIPTION:Spiritual Care Visitor Training is a 12-month program that equips lay persons with active listening skills and other tools that will help them assist in pastoral care in the parish or in an outreach setting such as a nursing home. \nThe training\, offered by the Bishop Anderson House of Chicago\, and sponsored by Diocese of Indianapolis and the IN-KY ELCA\, begins with a retreat for participants on April 20 at Church of The Nativity\, Indianapolis. Participants in the training must be approved by their parish clergy. Once approved\, click here to complete a short application for the training. \nApplication deadline is April 14. Participants will also need a background check and to complete several Safe Church modules. Participants are supervised by their parish clergy or a member of the agency where they are volunteering. Cost of the training\, including the retreat is $75. \nFor more information contact the Rev.
