DESCRIPTION:Preaching Among Friends is a six-week online workshop for lay preachers\, suitable for beginners and for experienced preachers looking to hone their craft. This course addresses the unique positions of lay preachers by offering the chance to claim their voice to preach\, craft relevant sermons they believe with one clear message of Good News\, and apply a sustainable practice that respects the limited amount of time they may have for sermon prep. The course will meet one evening each week for 75 minutes in the early evening for the first five weeks. There will be an average of two hours of homework per week. In the sixth week\, the class will meet nightly as preachers draft their sermons in real time. \nThe cost of the course is $250. $200 will be refunded to you upon successful completion of the course. SUMMARY:Online Lay Eucharistic Visitor Training - November 2024
DESCRIPTION:Online Lay Eucharistic Visitors’ Training will be offered on Saturday\, November 16th from 9:30 to 11:00am Eastern Time. \nThe training is required for those who seek to be licensed for this ministry.  Prior to signing up for this training\, attendees must have been approved for this ministry by their rector\, priest-in-charge or person charged with pastoral oversight in the congregation. \nIn preparation for the training\, participants are urged to read “A Manual for Eucharistic Visitors” by Beth Wickenberg Ely.  A completed application form signed by their rector or priest-in-charge and senior warden should be sent to Janet Brinkworth\, 125 Monument Circle\, Indianapolis\, IN  46204 or email to brinkworth@indydio.org. \nPlease click here for all details and requirements.  Eucharistic visitors must complete all requirements listed and be licensed before making home visits. \nRegister here.
