Ash Wednesday Services

On Ash Wednesday, which is observed on March 6 of this year, congregations across the diocese will hold services and distribute ashes:

Chapel of the Good Shepherd, West Lafayette, will hold services of Holy Communion with imposition of ashes at 12:20 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Christ Church Cathedral will hold services at:
7 a.m. Holy Eucharist, Rite I
Noon Holy Eucharist, Rite II
5:30 p.m. Holy Eucharist, Rite II with choir
7:30 p.m. Servicio de Miércoles de Ceniza

and will hold Ashes on the Go at 8 a.m., 11 a.m., and 4 p.m.

Church of the Nativity, Indianapolis will offer the dispensation of “Ashes to Go” from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. EST and will hold services at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Christ Church, Madison will hold Ash Wednesday services with Communion and imposition of ashes at noon and 6:00 p.m.

Episcopal Church of All Saints, Indianapolis will hold a Low Mass at 8 a.m. and a Solemn High Mass at 6:30 p.m.

St. Alban’s will host two opportunities for ashes, with Holy Communion:  11 a.m. and 7 p.m.

St. Christopher’s, Carmel, will hold services with imposition of ashes and Holy Eucharist at 6:30 a.m., 10 a.m., and 7 p.m. EST.

St. James, Vincennes, will hold Ash Wednesday services on March 6 at 5:30 p.m. EST.

St. John’s, Washington, will hold Ash Wednesday services at 7:30 p.m. EST.

St John’s, Bedford, will hold Ash Wednesday services with Communion and imposition of ashes at noon and 7 p.m.

St. John’s, Lafayette, will hold Ash Wednesday services at noon, 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. The noon service will take place at First Baptist Church (on the corner of 7th and North) with members of First Baptist, Bethel AME, Trinity United Methodist, and others. The 5:30 p.m. service will focus on teaching children and youth about Ash Wednesday. The 7 p.m. liturgy will be traditional and include the parish choir.

St. Mark’s, Plainfield will hold services at 1:15 p.m. and 7 p.m.

St. Matthew’s Indianapolis (http://www.stmattsindy.org) will hold Holy Eucharist at 10 a.m., a prayer service at 12 noon and Holy Eucharist at 7 p.m. EST.

St. Paul’s, Evansville will offer Imposition of Ashes and Eucharist at 12:05 p.m. and again at 7 p.m.

St. Paul’s, Richmond will hold a Rite One service at 6:30 p.m.

St. Peter’s, Lebanon, will hold a service of Holy Communion and imposition of ashes at 6:30 p.m. EST.

St. Timothy’s, Indianapolis will hold Ash Wednesday services at 12 noon and 6 p.m. 

Trinity, Anderson will distribute ashes at liturgies at 12 noon and 7:00 p.m. Ashes will also be available to all who come to free lunch at 12:30 p.m.

Trinity, Bloomington will hold the following services:   
Ashes on the Go—7-9 a.m., 10-11:30 a.m.; 2-4 p.m.
Holy Eucharist, Rite II with Imposition of Ashes—12:15 p.m.
Family Friendly Ash Wednesday Service—5:30 p.m.
Holy Eucharist with Imposition of Ashes—7 p.m.

Trinity, Indianapolis will hold the following services:
7 a.m. – Holy Eucharist (said)
Noon – Holy Eucharist  (with hymns)
7 p.m. – Holy Eucharist (with choir)
Ashes-on-the-Go (Church North Entrance / 33rd Street) – 7:30-8:30 a.m.; 3-4 p.m.
