Vision Statement

Jesus Christ has gathered laity, deacons, priests, and bishop of congregations and diocesan ministries in central and southern Indiana to be the Episcopal Diocese of Indianapolis.

We celebrate the great gift of our Anglican heritage and will deepen our understanding of its tradition and heritage, inviting others to join us.

We welcome all persons into our common life and will proclaim the gospel to those in our communities who do not yet know our Lord.

We will nurture relationships in Christ, remaining in conversation with one another despite honest disagreement, always seeking God's will.

We are thankful for our differences and acknowledge that they enrich and energize our ministries.

We promise compassion, acceptance, and assistance to those in need.

We acknowledge and celebrate the wealth of talent and treasure which has been given and will grow in confidence that working together, we will always have enough to engage in God's mission.

Meeting Information:

Programs and Other Info:
Holy Family Episcopal Church is a young and growing congregation located in the northeast Indianapolis suburb of Fishers. Our church is located just west of the Fishers town center. Members of our congregation reside in Fishers, Noblesville, Carmel, Indianapolis and the Geist area. We invite you to become part of our Holy Family.

Children's Ministry:
Because children 16 years and younger make up about half of our congregation, Holy Family offers programs for children and youth of all ages. Each program is overseen by our director of Christian Education and implemented by trained adult volunteers. We welcome children and adults of all ages to visit each of the programs.

Let the Little Children Come Nursery:
We offer childcare on Sunday from 9:50-11 a.m. for infants 36 months and younger.

Sunday School:
Holy Family offers a well-organized program of Christian education for children ages three to 11 years. Lessons prepared by the congregation's director of Christian Education are delivered by adult volunteers. The Sunday morning program runs from 9:50 a.m. to 10:35 a.m. when children join the worship service for a special children's homily and for communion. During the first three Sunday's of the month, the children meet in smaller age-appropriate groups. During the fourth Sunday, all children gather for a community children's chapel.

Each session includes Bible stories, group discussion, prayer and music. Additional activities, such as crafts, skits and play time, reinforce the lesson theme.

Youth Group:
For young people ages 12-18 years of age, the youth group meets from 9:50-10:35 a.m. Sundays for discussion. Youth group is for young people interested in making new friends and sharing spiritual relationships. The young people have input into the plans for their weekly discussions, social outings, outreach ministry and group spiritual growth.

Youth group participates in annual activities such as the overnight at Waycross, the diocesan camp; tobogganing weekend at Pokagon State Park; and the winter lock-in. The youth group also sponsors the Shrove Tuesday pancake dinner.

Rite-13:
This two-year program helps young people in grades 6 through 8 take the first steps in the passage from childhood to adulthood. The program celebrates God's gift of gender, affirms the creative energy of young people and explores the thoughts and disciplines that allow them to effect change in their world, and teachers the principles of freedom, responsibility and friendship. The group meets weekly after church on Sundays and for monthly social or mission activities.

Venturing:

A program of the Boy Scouts of America for high-school-age boys and girls, Venturing matches the teens' interests with the goal of gaining community and leadership experience. Group activities may be social, or oriented to leadership, fitness, service, or citizenship. Holy Family's Venturing group interest is "group diversity and community."

Fruit of the Spirit Pre-School:
During the school year, Holy Family offers a four-hour program for children ages two to five years. The program provides a spiritual learning environment where children experience an opportunity for educational, social, physical and emotional growth. We provide children a safe and loving atmosphere while introducing age-appropriate educational activities to help children prepare for kindergarten.

Adult Education:
Holy Family offers adults several opportunities for spiritual growth in fellowship with others.

Bible Study Groups:
? Sunday Morning Bible Study. This group meets Sundays from 8:50 a.m. to 9: 45 a.m. to study books of the Bible, thematic studies based on Scripture or other texts designed to expand our understanding of Christian belief.
? Other Bible Study Groups. Holy Family periodically schedules additional Bible Study groups during special liturgical seasons, such as Advent or Lent, or for special groups, such as a weekday Bible Study for women.

ChristCare Groups:
These small groups help newcomers and long-time members of the congregation enhance their relationships with other members of the congregation and with God through community building and care, worship and prayer, Biblical Equipping and missional service. ChristCare is a nationally recognized program developed by Stephen Ministries of St. Louis.

Daughters of the King:

The Daughters of the King is a nationwide Episcopal women's organization dedicated to prayer, service and evangelism. A group of women at Holy Family have formed the Hannah Chapter of the Daughters of the King.

Brotherhood of Saint Andrew:
Our local chapter of this worldwide ministry to men and boys in the Episcopal-Anglican communion focuses on prayer, study and service.

Ministries:
At Holy Family, everyone is a minister. We offer the following opportunities for vital service to our Lord: Acolytes, Altar Guild, Bread and Chalice, Building and Grounds, Choir, Christian Education, Hospitality, Lay Eucharistic Visitors, Outreach, Readers, Stewardship, Ushers and Greeters, Welcome. Visit our Web site for details of these ministries.

Outreach:
Holy Family is actively involved in many outreach projects throughout the year. In addition to diocesan ministries, we support the Delaware Township Food Pantry, the Heifer Project, United Thank Offering, Indianapolis CROP Walk, Operation Christmas Child and various mission trips. Our parish also provided personnel and supplies to assist with relief efforts in Louisiana to help in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.

Special Events:
Throughout the year, Holy Family offers special events to its members and the wider community. The youth host our annual Pancake Supper on Shrove Tuesday. We have a community Easter Egg Hunt. In last June, we have a Strawberry Booth at the Fishers Freedom Festival and host our annual hog roast. In the fall, we have a service for the Blessing of the Animals near the feast day of St. Francis. We also celebrate St. Nicholas' Day on December 6 with a party for the kids and families.
