Diocese of Indianapolis Resolutions October 2015

resolutionsList of Resolutions Proposed by the 2015 General Convention Deputation Based on 2015 General Convention Resolutions

  1. Resolved, that the 178th Convention of the Diocese of Indianapolis direct the Executive Council of the Diocese to form and publicize a policy for the use of alcohol based on General Convention resolution A158 and Be it further resolved that this work will be accomplished by the 179th Diocesan Convention (2016).
  2. Resolved, the 178th Convention of the Diocese of Indianapolis directs the Executive Council of the Diocese to form a Parental Leave Policy with the provisions described in Resolution D030 and Be it further resolved that this work will be accomplished by the 179th Diocesan Convention (2016).
  3. Resolved, the 178th Convention of the Diocese of Indianapolis directs diocesan and congregational ministries to seek greater collaboration and shared ministry among dioceses, particularly those geographically adjacent to the Diocese of Indianapolis as recommended by Resolution C031 and Be it further resolved that individuals and groups engaging in such collaborative explorations report their experiences to the Diocesan Executive Council by the 180th Diocesan Convention (2017).
  4. Resolved, the 178th Convention of the Diocese of Indianapolis affirms Resolution A183 by joining in the church wide  book study of The New Jim Crow book within the congregations and diocese as whole, coordinated and supported by the diocesan Anti-Racism Committee using study tools produced by the Episcopal Church and Be it further resolved that the insights from these book studies will be reported by the Anti-Racism Committee to the Executive Council by the 180th Diocesan Convention (2017).
  5. Resolved, the 178th Convention of the Diocese of Indianapolis calls for the fulfillment of Resolution A037 by undertaking a Study of Marriage by congregations using the “Dearly Beloved” toolkit and other study materials found in the Blue Book materials published by the Episcopal Church in 2015 and Be it further resolved that congregations will report their learnings to Executive Council by the 180th Diocesan Convention (2017).
  6. Resolved, the 178th Convention of the Diocese of Indianapolis engage in “The Bible In The Life Of The Church Project” of the Anglican Communion and Be it further resolved that congregations will report their experiences to Executive Council by the 180th Diocesan Convention (2017).
  7. Resolved, the 178th Convention of the Diocese of Indianapolis encourages its congregations to continue work towards food security in their communities in support of Resolution A091 and Be it further resolved that congregations will report on their ministries to Executive Council by the 180th Diocesan Convention (2017).
